Midnight Sky 03:39
Midnight Sky Well I,
sat aside a blazing field and watched it as it burned The sky was firing lightning bolts at its precious mother earth the trees were tumbling as if to try to run away and in the howling of the wind I swear I heard somebody say My names the Midnight sky and I’ve come to show you what it is I do for fun I shoot fire from my eyes because I love the looks on your clueless little faces as you run I am the Midnight sky and I’ve come to bring you a little closer to the end I’ll take you on a ride show you whats outside of that little box you’ve been living in Because I’ve witnessed every one of y’all tip-toeing down loud noisy halls I see you as you creep along and I take account of every flaw I like to darken rooms, and alter moods In general I like being cruel I’ll take you out of your shell and bring you straight to hell all by the minute the clock strikes twelve I’m the Midnight sky and I’ve come to show you what it is I do for fun I shoot fire from my eyes because I love the looks on your clueless little faces as you run I am the Midnight sky and I’ve come to bring you a little closer to the end I’ll take you on a ride show you whats outside of that little box you’ve been living in I’m the Midnight Sky X4 Well my name is Midnight and dont you dare wear it out or I’ll make sure its the last two syllables you ever shout I’ll be the reason that you shake and shiver in your bed or that nightmare that sticks to the back of your head all the trends that you follow or the pills that you swallow to make it all go smooth will soon be meaningless Im the Midnight Sky

When I Go 02:46
When I Go Well we saw everybody at that old home church wearing black clothes and white button-up shirts it was time to celebrate the life of a damn good man well they carried that pine box down the block without a word said the whole way no not a smile in the whole damn crowd no certainly not on this funeral day Well when I go I demand that everybody stands up and dances on their seats there will be music playing on the day that life carries my old soul away There will be no frowns just the sounds of you partying down as they lower me into the ground there will be music playing on the day that life carries my old soul away and we’ll say “Oh, my my how the time does fly when you’re living your life by the speed of light” “oh my my, how the time does fly when you know your gonna die by the end of the night” So have a drink on me and all I ask is that you please enjoy my last party

Six String Sue Well everybody better gather ‘round I got a sound bound to make you bounce about a girl I knew before I ever met you my baby six string sue Well I’ve had eyes for her since seven years old since our first date in the department store I remember it like it was yesterday She was sitting on a box with her cold steel locks oh that hour-glass body solid as a rock I had her in my sights from at least a block away She was with a couple of friends a chord and an amp and she was all plugged in and ready to jam I took her in my arms and we began to dance Oh six string sue you know exactly what to do to change my mood you pick me up you put me down you make me move oh six string sue I think that I’m in love with you I took her home on the very first night and everything was going just fine she was mine to keep whether strong or weak oh I knew she would never leave She was pretty but she had an attitude slightly bipolar always shifting moods she had a knack for sometimes acting downright rude She would talk right back or make you real relaxed every now and again she liked a little love tap but watch out when shes stressed because this girl snaps Oh six string sue you know exactly what to do to change my mood you pick me up you put me down you make me move oh six string sue I think that I’m in love with you well that was seventeen years ago since we met in that department store from the moment I laid eyes on her I knew we’d be forever more That was seventeen years ago Oh six string sue I know that im in love with you

Annies Last Ride 85 in the middle of the night she goes screaming down the free-way 85 in the middle of the night she goes speeding her temper away oh she’s like a freight-train off the rails with no emergency break she’s like a bat out of hell She’s like a comet with a crash course set for the floor Ill never forget the night that i never saw Annie anymore 95 in the middle of the night she goes cruising past a cop car 95 in the middle of the night she’s in a race being cheered on by the stars she’s got vodka on the tip of her lips with not a single intention of pulling over for anything a bottle pressed between her hips ill never forget the night that i forgot to give annie a kiss she was far, too far gone to be helped out by anyone far, too far gone she’d closed her eyes and said goodbye to the sun At 125 shes got her all maxed out the sirens are whining theres no going any faster now at 125 shes got the pedal all the way down, this race is almost over now the cops have pulled off as the pavement stops and watch as annie careens into the jagged rocks she had a date on her calendar chiseled in i guess when you’ve got an appointment with death theres no rescheduling she was far, too far gone to be helped out by anyone far, too far gone she’d closed her eyes and said goodbye to the sun Just like a freight-train off the rails with no emergency brake shes like a bat out of hell shes like a comet with a crash course set for the floor ill never forget the night that I never saw Annie anymore

74 S.S. At about morning, close to four I saw shadows at my door revealed by the dawn of that cold old sun They said boy you let me in or I’m gonna bust your screen door down so without a sound I snuck out I ran out into the back yard found my daddies old muscle car pushed the key in that I’d found behind the door and off she ran just like a missile like a finely machined pistol you should’ve heard that engine roar She was my seventy-four super sport with some big black tires and a ton of tourque and she would scream on down the line oh and you would know its her when she came around you’d hear those tires squeal and that engine sound and that paint would make you blind Well I got a couple of miles down the road when I heard that giant motor blow that car had gone as far as she could go so I grabbed my wallet and a knife and I made a run for my own life I ran until the sun gave me no more light well I was guided by the stars into a tiny side-road bar and a man “yelled son do you have any idea where the hell you are?” and I said “If you could please just help me out I’m tryin to leave this goddamn town but my cars broke down and now I can’t get very far” Without my seventy-four super sport with those big black tires and a ton of tourque oh she would scream on down the line oh and you would know its her when she came around you’d hear those tires squeal and that engine sound and that paint would make you blind So we drove two hours and a half we nearly ran right out of gas we came upon my girl lying dead there in her tracks And the man looked like he’d seen a ghost and he could barely move his toes and he said “son this is the car I used to own”

Big Bad Ben 02:47
Big Bad Ben Up a dirty road and past the dirty side of town is where she burned the body of Bad Ben down Well just a little past one with a double-action gun Bad Ben picked the townsfolk off one by one He had fire on his mind and looked himself dead in the eye and said “my my, I’d say its prime killing time” He’d had a handle of Jack Daniels Burnt out both ends of his candle Nothing but black in the back of his mind He was the devils red right hand shirtless in denim pants some said that ten feet tall was where Ben would stand Some said that ten feet tall was where Ben would stand Up a dirty road and past the dirty side of town is where she burned the body of Bad Ben down X2 Well Bad Ben went to bed after everyone was dead at least thats what he thought when he put down his head but then came a rebel yell like a prisoner from a cell coming toward with the mighty wrath of hell a pitchfork and torch in arm a little girl from a nearby farm came forth with tremendous force to bring Ben harm now careful not to make a sound she tied old Bad Ben down and burnt his sorry ass to the ground Up a dirty road and past the dirty side of town is where she burned the body of Bad Ben down

Fly by Night 03:14
Fly by Night I’ve got an angel to my right and a lawyer to my left and my god its getting hard to tell which one will suit me best I’ve got a gun tucked in my pocket Her picture on my locket and my time is getting thin I hear them counting down from ten I gotta fly by night, fly by night My blood is running cold and I’ve got nowhere left to go I gotta fly by night, fly by night the weight upon my shoulders is getting far too hard to hold We’ve got a problem here my heart was built on fear my foots down on the gas but theres no wheel for me to steer I’ve got on a perfectly good suit but i’m wearing the wrong shoes i’m solving all of the wrong problems with all of the wrong clues I feel emaciated and ostracized I pretend to be a cat but i’ve got a crocodiles eyes now with my leg pressing the pedal and my hand gripping cold metal I’ve got a meeting I cant miss I’ve got a dance with the devil I gotta fly by night, fly by night My blood is running cold and I’ve got nowhere left to go I gotta fly by night, fly by night the weight upon my shoulders is getting far too hard to hold So darling rest your head lay back in your bed I promise things will be better when the sun rises oh darling rest your head lay back in your bed I swear that things will be better when the sun rises I’ve gotta fly by night

Tough Enough 04:19
Tough Enough All aboard this one way train I got a one way ticket embossed with your name and written underneath in black bold letters it reads destination insane Well board up your windows and box all your things they say a storm is coming through with some heavy rain so batten down the hatches and lock all your latches and don’t plan on coming back things are never gonna be the same Well the sun is about to set and I swear I can hear the thunder rumbling I hear the cry of the wolves come from the wicked woods and now the darkest clouds you can imagine are rolling Oh, we’re in for it now so blow a kiss goodbye to your quaint little town sooner than later its all coming down so grab a pack of your closest belongings because we’re shipping out I’ve seen a rough road ahead of us I’ve seen a crooked trail with hurdles and jumps but I swear that your gonna survive If your tough enough I’ve seen sneaky thieves and liars and lust you’ll be hard pressed to meet a single body you trust but I swear that your gonna survive if your tough enough All aboard, you’ll hear the engineer cry you better cut your way to the head of the line because we’re on a schedule and we’re pressed for time you aint gonna wanna miss this ride All aboard, one last call hold your composure dont stumble, dont fall because this is the best part the thrill of it all seeing who can walk the walk and who was full of talk. oh we’ll separate the men from the boys the women from the girls the music from the noise all the finely refined machinery from the low grade, mass-produced elementary toys so if your not afraid that you’ll make the grade you’ve got what it takes and you’ll pay your own way then climb on board my friend we aint got any more than a second of time to waste I’ve seen a rough road ahead of us I’ve seen a crooked trail with hurdles and jumps but I swear that your gonna survive If your tough enough I’ve seen sneaky thieves and liars and lust you’ll be hard pressed to meet a single body you trust but I swear that your gonna survive if your tough enough
